The Opportunity
As an Optima intern, you’ll work alongside licensed engineers and project managers on real projects—from K-12 and higher ed to healthcare, civic, workplace, and mission-critical. You’ll contribute to design documents, site walks, calculations, and coordination meetings while learning how great buildings come together.

What You’ll Do

• Assist with MEP/Technology design in Revit and AutoCAD (markups, modeling, redlines).

• Run calculations (loads, short-circuit, voltage drop, duct/piping sizing, lighting, etc.).

• Support field work (site surveys, commissioning functional tests, punch lists).

• Document work to quality standards and learn our project workflows.

Requirements

• Working toward a BS in Mechanical, Electrical, or Architectural Engineering (or related).

• Coursework in building systems (MEP), energy/sustainability, or low-voltage systems.

• Familiarity with Revit and/or AutoCAD; Excel comfort for calcs and logs.

• Clear communication, curiosity, and a teamwork mindset.

• Ability to work in-office a majority of the week (with some flexibility).
